BSc (Actuarial Science & Mathematical Statistics), BSc (Advanced Mathematics of Finance) (Hons) , MSc (Finance). John joined All Weather Capital as a Non-Executive Chairman in September 2015 and was appointed as an Executive Director from August 2016. John is the former Principal Executive Officer (PEO) of the GEPF, the largest Pension Fund in Africa with assets north of (R1.2 trillion) US$120billion. He was the key driver behind GEPF's leading investment policies and strategy. John worked closely with the board, he managed to double the assets of the GEPF in less than 5 years, during the toughest economic environment in recent history. John also served on a number of key strategic industry initiatives including being a member of PRI Advisory council and Chairman of CRISA. John helped establish the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA), which is hailed as one of the best in the world, this lead him to winning the, “Industry Person of the year” in financial services in 2012. He was also recognised by the Mail and Guardian as one of the Top 200 young South Africans in 2012 for his contribution in the world of Pensions. In 2013 he was named Africa's Top Emerging leader by Africa Investor.

BBusSc (Finance), PGDA, CA(SA), CFA. Shane is an Executive Director and the CIO of All Weather Capital. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant he began his investment career at Liberty Asset Management in 1995 as an investment analyst and progressed to be a Senior Fund Manager, managing a Unit Trust, some third party pension funds and eventually the main life fund of the Liberty Group. Thereafter he spent 3 years as a Director of Corporate Finance at UBS Warburg before moving to Peregrine Capital as a Director. After 7 years at Peregrine Capital he started his own business now called All Weather Capital.

Bcom (Economics) (Hons), CFA. Sanelisiwe joined All Weather Capital as a trainee equity analyst in June 2014. He previously worked for the National Treasury of South Africa as a Budget Analyst. His work involved the analysis of national government departments’ budgets, analysis of departments’ strategic goals and making recommendations on allocations to be made to departments during the fiscal year.

BCom (Accounting), MBA, FAIS representative. Patsy has three decades’ experience in financial services. She served the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) as a Portfolio Manager where she was responsible for the non-consumer industrials portfolio, including analysing investments in the Diversified Industrials, Telecoms, Construction, Healthcare and Technology sectors. She left the PIC to join ABSA Asset Management as a Senior Investment Analyst where she was jointly responsible for the ABSA Prime Equity Fund. ABSIP awarded her the Stock Broking Analyst of the year award in 2002 and 2005, and a lifetime achievement award in 2004. Patsy was appointed to the ABSIP Executive Committee in 2009.

CFA Charterholder He joins us from Vunani Fund Managers where he was previously Co Head and Portfolio Manager of Fixed Interest.

Cobus joined All Weather Capital in August 2021 and has over 14 years’ experience in financial services. He completed his CA(SA) articles at Standard Bank and has worked at asset management companies focusing on high-net-worth portfolio management, a family office as CIO as well as hedge fund managers during his investment career.

Jarred joined All Weather Capital in March 2020 as an Equity Analyst, co-manager of the listed Property Fund and assists with managing the Hedge Fund. He started his career in financial services in 2012 as insurance and technical analyst for a Durban based brokerage. He then moved into discretionary fund management in 2014 before joining a Johannesburg based hedge fund (Acanthin) in 2016 as an equity analyst.

He moved to Oystercatcher Investments in 2021 and re-joined All Weather in October 2022 as an Equity Analyst.

B. Acc. Sc, PGDip (Accounting Science), CA(SA) Nomsa Sibanda is the ESG Analyst at All Weather Capital. She joined All Weather in July 2021 as a Portfolio Assistant, and moved to join the investment team in November 2022. During her time as a portfolio assistant she worked closely with the investment team and was the back-up to the ESG analyst. Before joining All Weather Capital, Nomsa completed her SAICA articles at Nexia SAB&T in January 2021, thereafter she was promoted to Audit supervisor in the External Audit department. Nomsa obtained a Bachelors of Accounting Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting Science from the University of Johannesburg in 2016 and 2017 respectively. She is currently a candidate for CFA level 2.

BCom, CA(SA). Neal started his investment career at Alliance Bernstein (South Africa) as an Emerging Markets Equity Analyst after completing his articles at BDO Spencer Steward. In 2005 he moved to the company’s London office where he co-managed a US$2 billion international portfolio active in emerging markets for institutional and retail clients. In 2007 he joined GLG Partners in London, a large European hedge fund, to manage a global sector equity long/short fund with a large emerging market exposure. Two years later he moved on to Carlson Capital as an Equity Research Analyst. After moving back to Cape Town in 2012, Neal joined Sanlam Investment Management Global, which later became Denker Capital, as an Equity Analyst and later Portfolio Manager. He launched the Denker Global Emerging Markets Fund in 2015. Neal joined All Weather Capital in August 2019 to launch the Emerging Market strategy.

BCom (Accounting), PGDA, CA(SA). Richard completed his articles at RSM International in 2000 and spent 11 years with the accounting firm as a Consulting and Audit Partner. In 2008 his passion for the markets led him to establish and actively manage domestic and international portfolios, seeded with retirement funds of his partners. He later moved to Sanlam Investment Management Global, which later became Denker Capital, in 2011 as an Equity Analyst. He joined the Emerging Markets team in 2015 with the launch of the Denker Global Emerging Markets Fund and served a three-year supervisory period acting as Co-Portfolio Manager of the fund. Richard joined All Weather Capital in June 2019 to launch the Emerging Market strategy

Prior to joining All Weather he worked for Barclay’s Capital as a Senior Assistant Vice President for 8 months, working on the Product Control for the New York trading desk. Before Barclays Mark worked for Capricorn Hedge Fund Managers for five and a half years as the Fund Accountant.

BCom (Business Management & Finance) (Hons) Mandilakhe Ngqoza joined All Weather Capital in September 2022 as Head of Client Strategy and Investor Relations. Mandi has over 11 years in financial services where has honed his investment knowledge. He started his career at Allan Gray in their client servicing department before moving to State Street Global Services in their institutional client servicing team providing custody and trading support for their South African clients. He spent the next 6 years at RisCura in their investment consulting team starting as a client services manager and moving all the way to an investment consultant providing investment strategy to his own range of clients. He then moved to Alexander Forbes where he became a Senior Consultant also providing strategy and investment support to a wide variety of clients.

Jade started at All Weather in January 2022, with over 16 years' experience in financial services. Before joining, she was an Investment Consultant at 36ONE Asset Management. Jade also worked for Alexander Forbes Investments for 7 years, filling multiple roles, including offshore capital-raising for the firms alternative investment offerings, institutional client account management and an executive management role for the broader client channels team. Prior to joining Alexander Forbes Investments, she spent 5 years working at Old Mutual. Jade has a Professional Diploma in Marketing Management from the IMM Graduate School of Marketing.
